New Signal at Kenter | Bundy | Rose Marie Lane Intersection
The LA Department of Transportation authorized a new signal at the intersection of Rose Marie Lane and Kenter/Bundy in February 2019. Their decision came after 12 neighbors contacted the Department requesting an all way stop at Kenter Avenue and Bundy Drive to make it safer for pedestrians to cross. LADOT determined that given the high volume of cars on Bundy, a stop sign, which would require every single car to stop, would create "excessive queues and delays." After conducting a "comprehensive study of traffic volume and reviewing reported traffic collisions," LADOT authorized the installation of a traffic signal. It has taken four years to find the funding. When BHA learned of the determination to install a signal, we requested LADOT do whatever they could to minimize the delay of cars traveling north and south on Kenter/Bundy. LADOT has advised us that the signal will only be triggered by cars waiting on Rose Marie Lane or by pedestrians. Once the signal is activated we will be monitoring it, along with LADOT, to advise them of any adjustments that may be needed to timing.
