Armed Robbery Next Door

A homeowner was robbed on Monday, July 17, 2017, as she approached her front door at her Brentwood Park home. The man, pictured in the photo followed her on to her property, pointed a gun at her and demanded her valuables. The suspect fled on foot as police and local security were not able to apprehend him.

The BHA believes this and other recent crimes may represent a paradigm shift and is urging members to be extra cautious in the coming weeks while we all evaluate if this is a momentary spike or the "new normal."

Please make sure you are aware of your surroundings at all times. Mobile devices cause significant distraction and could increase your chance of becoming a victim.

Please do not open your front door to strangers and use your alarm when possible. Make sure second story door and windows are wired as well.

Please do not leave valuables in your car, or something that could be mistaken as such, like a backpack.

Please take note of suspicious activity and of people in parked cars. While you may not feel the need to call police, you can note vehicle makes, occupant description and license number in case there is a reported crime in the area.
